Creative Speech Classes with Astrid Anderson

When : Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30 - 8.30 pm (mornings also possible, if enough interest), starting 21st May until 12th June.

Theme : For this term - Astrid will re-introduce and continue working on the four elements of nature in the consonants, using poems and exercises. Please bring an exercise book and an A4 folder for texts. A warm welcome to all who wish to join us this term. No prior experience is required.

Venue : Wednesdays – at “The Christian Community”, 10 Rawhiti Rd , One Tree Hill & Fridays – at Rudolf Steiner House, 104 Michael's Ave., Ellerslie

Cost : $25 per week, or $15 per session.

 

Come and Learn to Serve

Serving for the Act of Consecration of Man is an especially rewarding task. Without servers we cannot have services! Our serving team does a wonderful job but the team does need more members.

On Saturday 7 June at 1000 Kevin will train new servers. The training will be until 1130. All your questions will be answered, and you can decide after the training whether serving is something you would like to take up. Come along and see!

 

Community Development Meetings

Following on with the impulse generated at the Whitsunday community meeting we will have two further meetings on Sundays after the service in June. Following these two meetings we will take the impulse forward through forming action groups.

Please do all you can to attend on Sundays 8 and 22 June .

 

Cleaning and Flowers Roster

The church is cleaned three times a month in preparation for Sundays. Fresh flowers are also put in place by those who clean. Normally the task is done by teams of two. The current cleaning teams would like others to help so that each team only needs to be rostered on once every 7 or 8 weeks. Rose Burton looks after the roster. Please phone her on 526 5440.

 

Bread Making

Pam Braithwaite is our excellent service bread maker. She has been doing this faithfully for a very long time – and we are very grateful. Pam will continue with the bread making, but because we endeavour to always have fresh rather than frozen bread for the Act of Consecration of Man it would be a great help to Pam if someone could be there as a ‘back-up baker' so that if she can't manage to bake or is away, then someone else is there.

Hartmut's Return

Hartmut returns on Friday 27 June (from rather a long trip to Germany , the Phillipines and Australia ). In the meantime, Kevin is on deck to cover all community needs and events. Kevin will be visiting Western Australia from Wednesday 25 June until Sunday 13 July.
