Introduction to a meeting: “Psychosis is an incredible event. It's a stumbling block. If somebody comes into psychosis, the environment becomes alarmed. What it really is, nobody knows – not even the professionals. And I, as a professional (and I am a physician and a psychiatrist), even I am not sure whether it is an illness. You are aware that we regard as real only that what we experienced ourselves. What anybody else experiences we don't know, and nobody knows it from us. Here you have the possibility to learn to a certain degree, what the truth of others is. That means from those who have the experience of psychosis themselves, from relatives of those and from professionals with clinical experiences.”
