Dear Members and Friends of The Christian Community In Queensland;

When Kevin Coffey visited Mapleton in March, he celebrated the Confirmation of Declan Allen and Chloe Bland and Keturah Tracey on Easter Sunday. Many of you were in the congregation to witness and accompany this blessing of the life transition phase from childhood to adulthood and it was a most festive day from all reports! And with these three young people moving on from attendance at The Children's Service and religious lessons, we are looking to see if there are any children to ‘step into their shoes' so that the Service continues to be held in Queensland to strengthen children for religious life for their whole life. The Committee of The Christian Community in Queensland has four members – Therese and Colin Allen, Michael Mahoney and Paul Martin. They carry the impulse to invite priests to Mapleton and do the work to make it happen. Any assistance that others of you can give would be a boost to their efforts. On behalf of all of us who value the presence of The Christian Community in the area, thank you dear Committee Members for what you do and your commitment.

The programme for this visit is different from previous visits by Cheryl Nekvapil. For the time being, she will not be travelling to Samford. Since Mychelle Wellsmore left to live in Sydney and Elon Gold is no longer resident at Samford, there is no-one to co-ordinate the visits. Maybe there is something else that will emerge as we wait and listen.

Once again, we are preparing for a focused time of fellowship and sharing in Christian Community—come and kindle the fire of the Spirit through what is planned!
