COURSES IN SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT

Many times in our lives we confront the question of the relationship between our work, our personal or private lives and our spirituality.

Does The Christian Community have anything to offer on how our religious and spiritual practices can bring more harmony and integration between these three aspects of our lives?

Do you want a place of open dialogue and constructive guidance about your spiritual development?

Priests and committed members gather together to offer each other spiritual formation in three ways: Through the study of philosophy and anthroposophy; Christology and personal spiritual practices like speech formation, eurythmy, prayer, meditation and personal study.

These courses in spiritual schooling are available at three levels: informal interest, formal schooling in spiritual development, or as a part of preparation towards the priesthood.

Each level has an agreed learning commitment.

Each community has its own specific  form and timetable.

Local Community Initiatives

Each centre of The Christian Community in Australia will run its own unique course. While we want to open these courses to anyone who is interested, we also want to create a place for people who have an active spiritual religious life based in Tthe Christian Community to further develop and school an understanding of how we can live a spiritual life out of the sacraments.

Three levels of attendance can be arranged: Firstly on an informal level. Secondly by entering into a formation with the content of the course and agreeing with the local presenters on expectations about learning commitments.  Thirdly these courses can be part of the training towards the priesthood in The Christian Community which would require further one-on-one dialogue with the priest running the course in your centre.

Further Intensive Retreats

Two intensives are planned. Depending on numbers and demographics, and where people are coming from, these retreats will be held in Mittagong, south of Sydney, at the live-in, retreat centre Harmony. We will arrange a fee equalization scheme for both the retreat and the travel costs.

To register for these weekends you need to have attended the local courses on a formal basis and have received recommendation from the local presenters.
